What does 24h innovation camp means?

The 24h camp is about getting to know to the world of entrepreneurship and innovation by creativity and doing fun. During the over-night camp, the campers create an imaginary business based on given ideas. After the camp, the students understand entrepreneurship and business life and notice that entrepreneur-like method, skills and qualities are needed in all action. The idea behind the camp is “learning by doing fun”.

You need during the camp week:

  • Comfortable clothes for different weather conditions
  • Clothes and shoes for physical activities
  • Towel, toothbrush and paste, shampoo, comb, hair brush
  • Presentation outfit/Smart casual: Jacket/shirt/long trousers/dress    
  • Medication. Inform the organizers in due time of your medication and allergies!!
  • Bagful of positive camp spirit and good mood
  • Your own best self and motivation!
 

You don’t need:
  • Alcohol, drugs etc.
  • Tobacco or snus
  • Unmotivation
  • Prejudices are left home
  • Any valuables can be left home in better care


The 5 days rules

  • Local college rules must be followed in the camp!
  • Alcohol and other drugs are not allowed
  • The camp area cannot be left during the 24h camp
  • Show respect to other students and teachers
  • Remember to speak English!
  • Act professionally

 

Preparation for teachers  

  • Willing to speak English for 5 days
  • Encourage students to participate in all activities
  • Think positive and be open minded
  • Participate actively in all programs
  • Document daily as a contribution to the digital handbook
  • Willing to learn and think in an entrepreneurial way





Programme for teachers and students

 

Monday 4th April – Teachers and Students

10:00 – 12:00 - Arrival at KEF airport – Find the Flybus to Reykjavik outside the building.

The flybus will take you to these two hostels – so please let them know where you are staying when you get on the bus at the airport.

Reykjavík Downtown Hostel Vesturgata – Teachers

Reykjavik City Hostel Sundlaugarvegur – Students - Icelandic tutors are staying there too.





18:00 – Dinner at Restaurant Askur Suðurlandsbraut - Presentation of the week’s programme and presentations of schools and participants. Students divided into groups

 

Tuesday 5th April - Teachers and Students

7:00 – 8:15 - Breakfast at Reykjavik Hostel (Breakfast is included )

8:15:-8:30 – Bus-pick up at both hostels
Downtown Hostel Laugardalur and Reykjavik City Hostel Vesturgata

9:00 – 10:00 –Company visit






Iceland Ocean Cluster - Company visit for both teachers and students.

The Iceland Ocean Cluster’s mission is to create value by connecting together entrepreneurs, businesses and knowledge in the marine industries.

Have you ever been out for a meal in a greenhouse? Enjoy a unique food experience with icelandic tomatoes growing all around! Tomato soup and fresh-baked bread, as well as other goodies, in a charming environment among the plants.

Wednesday 6th April - Teachers

8:15 – Bus pick up at hostels

12:00 – 12:30 – Lunch at FB

12:30 – 13:30Speaker/workshop from NMI –Innovation Center Iceland

13:45 –Teachers walk to Fablab

14:00 – 17:00 –Teachers workshop in Fablab

Wednesday 6th April - Students

8: 15 – Bus pick up at hostels

12:30 -16:30 -  IDEAS/SWOT/BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS

18:30 – 21:30 Evening workshops

04:30 - Bus to hostel – Sleep

13:00 -15:00 - Presentations from groups
